Russ Holter, Mark Borleske, Dave Newcomb, Mary Pittis, Washington State Parks, Louis Musso and others are taking a very active part in this project. The "Beanery" will likely open this summer, and at least some items will be on display at some time during the year. This event takes place towards the end of March at the Boeing Rec. Center, 22645 83 Road S., Kent, WA. This highly successful annual event is organized in part by Dave Haskins of BC, and again with space donated by the Boeing Employees Model Railway Club. Thanks guys !! Read note below on a brief history of this event.A brief history of the Kent Get-togethers: This is neither a MilWest nor MRHA meet. It never has been. It was always non-affiliated, open door. In earlier years, there never was an official name to this. It was always simply "Puget Sound Area Milwaukee Road fans." Founder- Donald C. Dietrich (Former Milw employee. MRRA Newsletter editor). First meet held: Last Saturday of the month, March, 1981. Meetin place then was the Burien Public Library. After Don passed away suddenly during November of 1985, Ken Secrest took over and did for 1986 and 1987. After 1987, Ken did not have the time to continue, which is when others became involved such as Dave Haskins, Gary Ostland, etc. Attendance was always in the area of 50 and more.
