Monroe 2005 pictures
After a year in the planning, finally both sets of Milwaukee Road SD-80s were finally together in daylight to be photographed (on the UNW N Scale layout at the Monroe, WA. Model Train Show and Swap). Click here for a few pictures of this historic event.

Electrics were produced in HO by Alco, NWSL, and Overland all of whom made models of Little Joes. As well, models have been made of Boxcabs, Quills, Bi-Polars, and Steeple Cab Switchers. (See below)
In N Scale we've only seen a very poorly performing Bi-Polar. Us N Scalers would sure like to see something here.
HO Scale Electrics that have been produced. Info by Keith Fink
Boxcabs - Several companies have imported these over the years. The first ones that I can think of are the ones done by Suydam. These look quite nice considering that they are probably 35(?) years old by now. I believe that Nickel Plate Products also imported some boxcabs. I have also seen these and they aren't too bad either. However, in my opinion neither of these models can hold a candle to the boxcabs made by Overland. Overland has done at least two runs of boxcabs in the last 10-15 years. Detailing is far superior as well as the operational quality. Included in OVL's offerings are the two "streamlined" boxcabs for passenger service.
Little Joes - Again several different models imported. North West Shortline in the early 70's as well as an offering from Alco models. In my opinion, both models look about the same, but the NWSL model may run just a bit smoother (not much). Overland has also done at least two runs of Little Joes and their quality far exceeds the other two previously mentioned models. Overland has done many different versions of the Joes including the different looking E-78.
Bipolars - I believe that there have only been two offerings for the Bipolar, NJ International/Custom Brass and Overland. The CB model is older and rather crude. The Overland Bipolar (again offered in several different versions) is EXCELLENT. Very well detailed and smooth running.
Westinghouse - As far as I know there has only been one model offered in HO scale, this one made by Custom Brass as well. This model may be an early 80's (?) import. This model looks OK, but is quite crude when compared to the newer OVL stuff. This model comes in one version (1920's era) so if you want it to look right pulling your Oly Hi and Columbian, some re-detailing is in order.
GE Switchers - This is the area where I am least informed. I think that OVL has done at least one run of these as well as NPP. I haven't seen either one in person, but I would guess that the OVL model is superior.
